Organizing information

To know how you can best structure the file systems of your business, you must know the information need and production of each organizational element. Different suborganisations should come to agree how to structure, name and where to store documents. Often this is a difficult process. This process can be speeded up by making it more concrete, practical, and what is most important, visual. In general it is easy to come to agreement that an organisations consist of suborganisations consisting of people performing tasks related to proceses and involving documents which must be stored and retrieved. This structure could be put in a mind map and then filled step by step. The disadvantage of this method is that you develop an information structure on paper only. Besides it cannot yet be tested in practice to get a feel of its useability.
