Based on ODF 1.2, the following approach is suggested to start with:

  1. Ignore all together Part 2 (Open Formula)
  2. Implement Part 3 (Packages) with little adaptations
  3. Implement from Part 1, the chapters related to the structure of the document and ignore the ones more related to content and format, as to not completely break the current .mm based format. Namely, the following chapters should be implemented (with necessary adaptations):
    1. Chapter 3 - Document Structure
      • Chapters 3.4 to 3.9 without object, to be replaced through <office:map>
    2. Chapter 4 - Metadata
    3. Chapters 21 and 22 - "Document processing" and "Conformance"

Naming prefixes - alternatives

As an afterthough, I thought that 'mmap' and 'mm-office' might be better XML prefixes instead of 'map' and 'x-office'. What do you think?
